In 1908 the Mississippi Gulf Coast had its first Mardi Gras parade, with 17 floats, 150 flambeau carriers, the new 12-piece Herald Newspaper Band, a grand marshal, the Mayor and the coucilmen.

Today, King d'Iberville and Queen Ixolib reign over the Parade in Downtown Biloxi.
