Dear Potential Sponsor,
The celebration of Mardi Gras is one of the largest civic and tourism events on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It requires the work of many volunteers, local governments, and public safety officials that spend thousands of hours to make Mardi Gras a successful event. Community Sponsors are also an integral part of creating this special event for the Mississippi Gulf Coast and we invite you to join us as a Community Sponsor of the Gulf Coast Carnival Association.
The Gulf Coast Carnival Association traces its roots to the first Mardi Gras parade on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1908. Since then we have continued to celebrate Mardi Gras for the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In 2008, the Gulf Coast Carnival Association celebrated it’s 100 years of Mardi Gras.
As a Community Sponsor you will be invited to our GCCA Summer Social in August where we will get a head start on our 100 year Mardi Gras celebration. You will also attend the Sponsor’s Reception where the identity of the King D’Iberville, Queen Ixolib, and their Royal Court will first be revealed. The Sponsor’s Reception is an exclusive event only attended by our Community Sponsors. You will also be invited to the Royal Reception the weekend before Mardi Gras and get to experience the activities at our host hotel. At the Coronation Ball on the night before Mardi Gras, you will experience the pageantry of the coronation of our royalty and then dance into the night with our royalty and other community sponsors. You will also be offered special seating across from Biloxi City Hall for our parade on Mardi Gras day. Community Sponsor’s and their family members may also request to participate in Mardi Gras as part of the royalty or as a flag bearer.
Please complete and return the Community Sponsor form linked to this web page and a payment of $450.00 so you can be an important participant in one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s most enjoyable traditions. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to seeing you this year!
